Marketers are interested in demography because it tells marketers important information about people, who make up markets. Some trends marketers are interested in are growing world population, and the growing average age.
3. The first trend marketers should be aware of is the growing shortage of raw materials. The second is increased pollution and the third is increased government intervention. Some responses that marketers should have to these problems are to help develop solutions to the material and energy problems facing the world.
4. Business legislation is enacted to encourage competition and ensure fair markets for goods and services.
5. Core beliefs and values are passed on from parents to children and are reinforced by schools, business and government,. Secondary values are more open to change. Core values, for example, are getting married, working hard and being honest. Secondary values are things like when you get married. Marketers can usually only impact someone’s secondary values.
6. Marketers shouldn’t respond and react to the changing market, they should be proactive and affect the market instead of the letting the market affect.
